Stegastes nigricans
Stegastes nigricans (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825) defensive display above its algal turf farm. The distinct black spot above the base of the tail and behavioral characters distinguish this species from another common turf farmer in Guam, Stegastes lividus (Bloch & Schneider, 1801). Image 2614.
